In Memory of James (Jim) Hering

Claudia Hering wishes to honor her husband Jim, who recently passed away. A lover of books, “If he didn't have 5 books going, then something was wrong.”

Claudia and Jim both grew up in Grand County and graduated from Middle Park High School. They moved away in 1984 but still call Grand County home.

“When we were going through old report cards our daughter Sara found one from Jim’s grade school that read, ‘Jim would be a much better student if he wasn't reading all the time.’”

Claudia shared that Jim’s love of reading trickled down to Sara, who when they lived in Pueblo entered a contest at their elementary school for most books read: Sara had over 500 books in first grade and 600 in second. And, now he has two grandsons that also share that love of reading.
